All calculators on Mayan.org use the GMT correlation constant (584,283) — the most widely accepted correlation between the Maya Long Count and the Gregorian calendar, established by Goodman, Martinez, and Thompson. This is the same correlation used by the majority of Maya scholars and epigraphers worldwide.
The sign interpretations draw from both Classic-period archaeological evidence (inscriptions, codices, ceramic painting) and living K'iche' and Yucatec Maya traditions maintained by contemporary daykeepers (ajq'ijab'). While no two Maya communities interpret the signs identically, the core associations have remained remarkably consistent for over two millennia.
