It’s the Teens’ World, We’re Just Living in It: Using Pop Culture to Teach

Networking Workshops for Jewish Youth Professionals

With marketers and media producers increasingly targeting teen audiences and wallets, youth professionals find themselves consuming a lot of the same popular culture – from TV shows to music, celebrity gossip to viral video – as the youth they serve. In this interactive workshop, participants will examine messages about race, class, gender, and sexuality in teens’ cultural references, and seize such moments to help teens think critically about the world around them.
